Welcome to the international conference:
"MAMA-Trend: Trends, challenges and emergent new phenomena in multi-functional materials"
May 20th-23rd, 2013

Thank you for attending the International Conference MAMA-Trend
MAMA-Trend will be the last and most important event organised within the EU-MAMA project “MAMA: unlocking research potential for multifunctional advanced materials and nanoscale phenomena" (Grant Agreement No. 264098.). It follows three topical workshops (MAMA-synt Sept. 2011, MAMA-Protheo March 2012, MAMA-Hybrids, Oct 2012) that have collected a large interest from the scientific community and a wide number of participants.
The aim of the conference is to organize a lively conference focused on the latest breakthroughs in the highly dynamic research field of novel (multi)functional materials. The conference will be structured in four symposia, that will be named:
- Unconventional superconductivity: materials, pairing mechanisms and physical properties;
- Spin, charge and orbital ordering, phase transitions and quantum critical behaviour in correlated electron systems;
- Dielectrics, ferroelectrics and multiferroics;
- Emerging phenomena at surfaces and interfaces in correlated electron systems.
Overall we plan to have 4 Symposia:
- Symposium 1 - Unconventional superconductivity: materials, pairing mechanisms and physical properties;
- Symposium 2 - Dielectrics, ferroelectrics and multiferroics;
- Symposium 3 - Spin, charge and orbital ordering, phase transitions and quantum critical behaviour in correlated electron systems;
- Symposium 4 - Emerging phenomena at surfaces and interfaces in correlated electron systems.
During the conference we will have the pleasure to host many invited speakers:
